ITEC Diploma in Holistic Massage, Brighton
August 28th, 2009Professional Massage Training is a great way to enhance or change your career and for many is often the first step to an exciting and challenging new direction in life.
This training can offer many rewards, such as: learning a new skill, great job satisfaction, grounding you more in your body and personal development. Massage skills can help you to connect to friends, family and your clients on a deeper level. We continue to have a 100% pass rate.
College Principal, Michael Gibbons, brings much experience of many forms of massage work, learnt over 18 years in the field. His creative and dynamic approach will encourage you to enjoy and get the most out of your training.
Holistic Massage is also known as Body Massage. You can also study Aromatherapy at the same time, please look at the aromatherapy page for more details.
Holistic Massage
Classes are taught in a relaxed environment using talks, lectures, visuals and detailed practical demonstration. Students work closely with the tutor learning not only the techniques but also how to protect themselves from the strain and stress while carrying out body therapy.
An important part of training with the college is to trust and develop your intuition and blend massage techniques to suit each individual.
Anatomy and Physiology
It is important for therapists to understand how the body functions and heals itself. This is a fascinating subject to study. You will learn about the cell, skin, skeletal, muscular, vascular, lymphatic, nervous, endocrine, reproductive, digestive, respiratory and urinary systems.
Students learn through talks and active participation. Regular homestudy is carefully designed to prepare our students for their examinations.
As part of your training, students need to receive two massages from the tutor, Michael Gibbons. This is so you can experience what a completed massage, as taught by our college, is like and be talked through the process. To organise an appointment please telephone 01273 562676.
You will also learn about professional conduct, ethics, client management, setting up a business and contraindications.
A British Red Cross or St John’s Ambulance First Aid Certificate will need to be completed externally and the certificate presented at the end of the course.

Testimonials
“Michael’s approach to teaching was light hearted and consistent. He made it a fun and positive learning experience, particularly as I had not studied for exams since college! I thoroughly enjoyed every moment, made lots of friends and would highly recommend the course to others. Thank you”
“I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed the course, right from the very first day. The environment was perfect, calm and peaceful and very cosy during those chilly winter days. As well as being a superb teacher, both with massage technique and Anatomy and Physiology, you managed to get the balance of learning and having fun exactly right. My memories of the course are all good, the bliss of being massaged and feeling totally relaxed and lots of laughter. Having spent thirteen years in financial services, when I seemed to be permanently stressed, it has been such a joy these last few weeks to experience the pleasure of giving a massage, getting such positive feedback from clients AND getting paid for it! Thank you so much for a brilliant course, it’s been life changing for me.”
Kathy, Hove‘I thoroughly enjoyed my training with Michael at the College of Classical Massage – it has inspired me to make radical changes in my life and focus on massage and holistic therapies in my future career. Michael is a great teacher with a real passion for his subject backed up with the kind of experience that brings the lesson to life. I look forward to doing more courses very soon.’ Sara, London.
“This is just to say how much I enjoyed the Classical Holistic Massage course. It was very well and clearly delivered. The friendly and approachable displayed by Michael made a very enjoyable course….so much so that I booked another course with him.
I would be very happy to recommend these courses to one of my friends or colleagues. Many many thanks.
Pierre, Brighton.”I absolutely loved it!!! Michael is a great teacher, he creates an excellent environment where people feel relaxed, and open to enjoy learning massage. It was great fun and it has made a big difference to me in many areas of my life. I’ve actually found I’m enjoying social work again which has been an unexpected benefit ( I have been a social worker for over 20 years). I think being able to focus on and learn something totally different has given me a break from my job giving me new options. This has helped me to enjoy and appreciate the aspects of the job that I do still value. Thanks very much to you both.” Andy, Worthing
“I have recently completed the Holistic massage course in Brighton and have had an amazing experience of learning a completely new skill in massage. The course was very informal and relaxed yet Michael’s skills as a massage therapist and tutor were excellent. I came away feeling really confident that I can forge a career as a massage therapist.” Munira, Purley
