Professional Conduct and Business Awareness
August 22nd, 2009This course is designed to teach you about the professional regulations of the Complementary Therapy Profession, and to teach you business skills about understanding how to operate, run and market a business.
Business Awareness
Topics included are:
- Different types of business
- Health and safety at work – and other Acts that you need to know about.
- How to set up and run a practice/clinic – costing treatments
- Accounting for your business purposes
- Marketing your business/advertising
- Employing staff
Professional Conduct
Topics included are:
- Professionalism and code of ethics
- Working relationships with other practitioners
- Contraindications
- Advertising
- Professional associations
- Continuing Professional Development
- Insurance
- Confidentiality and consent
- First aid (you will have to take a one day first aid course – we will provide details)
- Hygiene, infection, sanitation.
- How to take a consultation
- Fire regulations
These two components are taught concurrently.
